Retinoblastoma - Childhood Cancer


Cancer occurring in eyes, also known as Retinoblastoma has been now days targeting kids in a very large scale, which are under 6 years of age. Few symptoms of retinoblastoma are squinting red eyes or white shining glow inside the eyes. It is a life threatening cancer, in which tumors were formed in the retina, the screen at the back of the eye. Basically, it is a genetic disease, caused by genes due to mutation or inherited by parents.

Also named as “Silent Killer”, in most of the cases it affects both eyes. It is really very important and essential for parents to have check up of their children at regular intervals, even from childhood. If this cancer gets examined in the first-born baby, it is likely to be developed in the second one also, which the couple would have in future. In such condition, high care is demanded in which the infant must go through a proper eye examination from the day they were born. If examined timely, retinoblastoma is a curable childhood cancer.

You should be more alert and attentive from the white glint catty eyes.
